Xiaomi’s Futuristic Step into the TV segment!

Television is something that I have grown up watching and I can’t really think of a house without a television to be honest. And over the years, there have been many changes and upgrades made by many companies and brands. And the most recent one that has left me completely fascinated and impressed is Xiaomi’s TV LUX Transparent Edition. You read it right. It is in fact a transparent TV and there is no underlying clue behind it. The TV costs around $7,200 in the States.

The company announced the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition and also stated that this is the world’s first mass-produced transparent TV. So, the basic theory behind this TV is that when the television is turned off, it is nothing more than glass display. I think of it as more like a mirror but let’s just go with a glass display. The TV comes with a 55-inch transparent OLED Panel that features a 1,50,000:1 static contrast ratio and a 10-bit panel displays 1.07 billion color combinations. If this didn’t impress you, maybe the next feature will. The TV comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 120Hz MEMC technology which undoubtedly gives the users a smoother and a clear viewing experience.

For someone like me who is easily fascinated with such technologies, this TV sure looks like something straight out of a movie from the future. As mentioned above, the Mi TV LUX uses OLED technology. This sure has a lot of advantages over the LED TV. OLED allows light to pass through the display in both directions and this technology has been used by Xiaomi to create the Mi LUX Transparent Edition TV. One of the other good things about this TV is the fact that Xiaomi tried doing something different with the usual way of integrating the speakers or the HDMI ports etc.

Usually we see televisions with the electronics and audio/video connections in a thin cabinet thing behind the screen, however things are different with the Mi Transparent TV. Xiaomi took all of that and successfully managed to fit all of it in an integrated round stand. The base stand is covered with a millimeter-grade finish that looks like compact discs merging into any surroundings. Now this might not look like a huge upgrade or an enhancement but it sure helps a great deal in managing the entire lot of cables that we need to adjust and fix.

The futuristic television is equipped with an AI Master Smart Engine. Mi TV Lux Transparent Edition also supports AI Master for Audio to detect the type of content being played and choose a fitting audio mode from a list ranging from movies, music, newsfeed, sports. The audio performance of the TV gets a notch higher with Dolby Atmos support. Xiaomi not only perfected the specifications for the viewing experience with the TV but it also made sure everything along it at par with the display. With the addition of the Dolby Atmos, the sound quality of the TV is top notch therefore the entire viewing experience sees a new high.

Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition has an aesthetic design that includes a 5.7 mm ultra-thin body rectangular screen and a round base.

Considering the specifications and the features, there is no doubt the Mi TTV LUX Transparent Edition is a revolution in the TV segment which not only brings in a powerful set of integrations but compared to the features it sure is priced pretty well. If you are looking to upgrade your entertainment setup at home, this might just be the one you would want to get.
