Where the Crawdads Sing: Adaptation!
“Where the Crawdads Sing” denotes the fictional tale of Kya, a girl who escaped to raise herself along a North Carolina bayou at the time of the 1950s and 60s. “The marsh girl,” as she’s known, is denounced and scorned by those in the nearby town. In time, Kya is put on a murder trial. Now, there is a film acclimated from the novel by an author with a secretive past.
It took wildlife scientist Delia Owens a decade to document this “Where the Crawdads Sing”. Her 1st novel has now been on the New York Times best-seller list for 168 weeks. Actress Reese Witherspoon adored it so much, that she added it to her widespread book club and staged the new adaptation.
“It just blew me away,” Witherspoon told to CBS “It felt like when I was reading To Kill A Mockingbird or just any sort of classic Southern literature. She layers on this thriller element, there’s a murder …”
Let me also tell you that our favorite Taylor Swift composed and sang on the movie’s soundtrack, saying on Instagram, that she wanted “to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story.”
“There’s this great murder mystery that keeps you turning the pages,” director Olivia Newman stated.
British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, who plays the role of Kya in the movie said that she met with writer Delia Owens when they shot on location in the marshlands around New Orleans.
The movie has been released on July 15, 2022, and getting much praise.
