Vivo S9 5G smartphone was launched on 4th March 2021. The phone comes with a 6.40-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The Vivo S9 5G runs on Android OS v11.0 out of the box. The AMOLED technology is widely used for smartphones because of their gorgeous color reproduction abilities and very deep blacks.

Vivo S9 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM. The S9 is first launched with the Dimensity 1100 processor. Despite being a mid-range SoC, it boasts high-end specs. The Dimensity 1100 is manufactured with a 6nm process and has four A78 cores. Moreover, the support for peripheral functions is more complete.

It also supplements the previously missing WiFi 6, and the flash memory specs also support UFS 3.1. In the Antutu running test, the score exceeded 60W, which is close to Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 870 platform.

As mentioned above, the Vivo S9 5G runs Android 11 and is powered by a 4000mAh battery. The Vivo S9 5G supports proprietary fast charging. Although I would have preferred the battery to be a little bigger than this. A larger battery would have made the phone all the more worth buying. But anyhow, with the proprietary fast charging, the aspect of a smaller battery is well compensated for.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Vivo S9 5G on the rear packs a 64-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture; an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. On the front, the Vivo S9 5G packs a 44-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.28 aperture. Camera modes include night scene, portrait, panorama, dynamic photo, slow motion, time-lapse, AR shooting, dual-view video, and more. Up front, the Vivo S9 5G has two selfie cameras with a 44-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.28 aperture. Front camera features include night scene, portrait, panorama, dynamic photo, slow motion, AR cute shooting, dual-view video, and more.

The Vivo S9 5G runs OriginOS 1 is based on Android 11 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage. The Vivo S9 5G is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The Vivo S9 5G measures 158.39 x 73.87 x 7.35mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 173.00 grams. It was launched in Midnight Blue, White, and Aurora Blue colours.

S9 5G is 3G and 4G capable. This smartphone has a built-in GPS receiver. GPS is a satellite based navigation system that allows the determination of the exact geographical location on Earth. The S9 5G comes with Near Field Communications (NFC) functionality for transferring content with other NFC-enabled devices. This Vivo smartphone has FM radio receiver. Connectivity options on the Vivo S9 5G include Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India).

The smartphone sensors measure physical quantities and transmit them to the application processor. The phones’s accelerometer is a built-in electronic component that measures tilt and motion. A fingerprint sensor is one of the easiest and most secure ways to protect your smartphone. The proximity sensor detects when a user is holding the phone near their face during a call and turns off the display to prevent keypad presses and battery consumption from the display. The S9 5G has Dual SIM capability, which means that you can insert two different SIM cards and use them both from one phone. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor.
