Types of Coffee for all the coffee lovers
Espresso
You can always count on the Italians when it comes to coffee and this version is as Italian as coffee can possibly get! It is a thick coffee and due to its high caffeine content, it is used as a base for other coffee varieties.
Americano
This brings us to the Americano! At its heart lies the potent Espresso which is then weakened by a greater quantity of hot water. Italians call it the cafe Americano.
Long Black
This one is made by combining two shots of ristretto or espresso.
Doppio
The name sounds fancy right? Doppio stands for double in English and is nothing but a double espresso shot!
So these are the bad boys of the black coffee world! The standard models that you will find in any good cafe or coffee shop around the world.
Ristretto
Ristretto, Italian for short, is an espresso shot made like regular espresso but with half the amount of water. The final product is thus a more concentrated shot of espresso with a slightly different taste.
Pour Over Coffee
Pour over coffee is a technique that continuously refreshes the water surrounding the grounded coffee. It includes a filter, a ‘pour over dripper’, and freshly ground coffee. The process comprises three phases, each adding to the coffee’s distinctive quality and taste. These include wetting, dissolution, and diffusion.
Batch Brew
The Batch brew method is the most recent way to serve dark coffee. Instead of old-timer filter coffee machines, modern technology allows cafés to make higher quality filter coffee cheaply and easily.
