The Dimensity 1050 by MediaTek
MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 1050 processor alongside the newly-launched Dimensity 930 chipsets. The MediaTek Dimensity 930 will be obtainable from the 2nd quarter of the year 2022, while the Dimensity 1050 by MediaTek and also the Helio G99 (a new improved version of the prior Helio G96) will come on the market from the 3rd quarter of the year 2022. New devices and smartphones with more powerful and efficient processors are expected to come throughout the rest of the year.
However, we are discussing the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 chipset in this article.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1050 is an 8-core, 6nm chip, with the brand using the TSMC for manufacturing. The new processor offer provides the latest mmWave, as well as sub-6GHz 5G.
The Dimensity 1050 by MediaTek offers on all fronts coupled with mmWave along with sub-6GHz sustenance and switching between the 2.
“The MediaTek Dimensity 1050, and its combination of the sub-6GHz and mmWave technologies, will provide end-to-end 5G experiences, a good uninterrupted connectivity, and also superior power efficiency to satisfy everyday user demands,” stated CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit at the company Mediatek. “With faster, and reliable connections and advanced camera technology, this chipset provides powerful features to assist device makers to differentiate their smartphone product lines.”
It further has ARM Mali-G610 for graphics and has sustenance for MediaTek’s HyperEngine 5.0 suite for giving additional optimization elements and specs for some better gaming performance.
The processor further comes with the capability for Full HD+ resolution display with up to 144Hz refresh rate with support for hardware-accelerated AV1 video decoding, Dolby Vision, and, HDR10+ playback.
The Dimensity 1050 will open up some new design possibilities, especially in the field of a value-conscious segment of the market, making some new 5G capabilities that would otherwise be limited by structure, design and cost. This will be important to MediaTek as it follows market opportunities, and as mmWave 5G begins to get momentum across the globe.
