The horror franchise is here! It has been 10 years since the movie Scream 4 was released, and now another one has come. This new Scream film looks to be a continuance and rebirth, as per the star David Arquette.
Let me tell you that the original Scream took scary films to task when the actual movie came out in the year 1996, going meta and reaching out and driving fun at multiple of the familiar tropes that had come to define horror movies. Now, as the franchise prepares its fifth entry, Scream has evolved as the kind of standard horror movie that it at one time took ammunition at. Even so, the movie has tried to keep that edge in its subsequent sequels and hopes to do so again with Scream (2022).
Talking about this version of this Scream, this new version of Scream takes place 25 years after the actual streak of brutal murders shook the peaceful town of Woodsboro. Now, a new killer has donned the Ghostface front and begins targeting a bunch of teenagers to revive secrets from the town’s tainted past.
The triad of Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, and Dewey Riley has reunited as they try and eliminate the murderous Ghostface once and for all.
As they have for every Scream movie to date, Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox will all repeat their roles as Sidney, Dewey, and Gale. The trio of characters has been via a lot concurrently, so we can bet they would not mind parting the baton off to a new generation, and they may eventually get that chance with Scream.
A final poster for Scream that was released featured most of the cast and the tagline, “The killer is on this poster.”
So, are you going to watch this?
