John Wick: Series
With action icon and Hollywood darling, Keanu Reeves in the lead role, “John Wick” has become one of the most prominent franchises of the decade. But fans have had to wait for a whole new movie since 2019’s “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum”. It has proved the popularity of franchise maker Derek Kolstad’s universe by collecting $56 million on the opening weekend only. That was more than the opening collections of the 2014 and 2017 original movies altogether.
Collectively, the 3 movies have collected more than $573 million at the international box office — which is a big milestone for an original action franchise vying against comic-book-driven viewers.
And in Hollywood, big box office good returns indicate more sequels to come. Let me tell you that “John Wick 4” and “John Wick 5” are already in the assignments, with the 4th installment of the series set for a March 24, 2023 release following numerous COVID-related holds.
“Chapter 4” kicks off the two-part finale scheduled for Wick. The franchise produced the upcoming spin-off film “Ballerina” starring Ana de Armas and Peacock’s prequel-sequel “The Continental” about the hotel for mercenaries, molded for a March 2023 release as part of a 3 part special event. Colin Woodell will take over Ian McShane’s role as hotel manager Winston for the 1975-set series, along with Mel Gibson, Ayomide Adegun, and Peter Greene.
The 1st look at Keanu Reeves as John Wick for the upcoming “Chapter 4” has arrived during the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. The teaser trailer boots off the two-part finale for Reeves as Wick, setting up a “deeper” decision for killer Wick’s existential journey, as star Laurence Fishburne revealed.
