F1 by Brad Pitt : A High-Speed Thriller or Another Box Office Pit Stop?

2 min readMay 14, 2025

Brad Pitt is back again on the Pit ! The adrenaline-fueled rush is so real for all the Formula one fans out there. Formula 1 movie set to hit theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and backed by Apple Original Films, F1 isn’t just another sports drama — it’s a high-stakes cinematic gamble with real Formula 1 races, top-tier talent, and jaw-dropping production value.

Brad Pitt in F1

Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired F1 driver making a sensational comeback with the fictional APXGP team, partnering with a fiery rookie (Damson Idris). Co-starring Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon, and with seven-time F1 champ Lewis Hamilton co-producing, the film blends Hollywood storytelling with on-track realism. But will F1 be a box office podium finisher or just another high-budget misfire? The teaser trailer has sparked serious hype, showcasing roaring engines, intense rivalries, and Pitt in full racing form having done months of training and even filming during real Grand Prix weekends. Here I am calling it “Maverick on wheels,” while skeptics question if a fictional F1 story can truly captivate mass audiences.

Still, Apple is banking big and with the global Formula 1 fanbase at an all-time high, the timing is strategic. Between the IMAX release, real F1 drivers making cameos, and Hollywood’s obsession with comeback stories, F1 has all the elements to become a summer smash. Yet, its success will ultimately depend on whether it can resonate beyond gearheads and deliver the emotional horsepower mainstream audiences demand.

F1 By Brad Pitt

Will Brad Pitt cross the finish line with his biggest hit in years, or will F1 sputter into the cinematic graveyard of overhyped flops? Fasten your seatbelts this summer, Hollywood’s most iconic leading man is racing for redemption. Also there is a scene where we can see every F1 drivers including — Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz. I am so excited to watch the film.
