MediaTek, the famous chipset brand has announced the new mid-range 4G processor for the year 2022, the Helio G99 alongside the Dimensity 930 5G and the Dimensity 1050 5G chipsets. The Helio G99 chip is a successor to the previously launched Helio G96, which we have seen in many mid-range smartphones till now. Let’s discuss the Helio G99 processor.

This Helio 99 has upgraded the Helio 4G series because the G99 uses TSMC N6 (6nm-class) chip production method, enabling it to be exceptionally power efficient and providing device creators with new possibilities to make gaming smartphones that last longer than ever. This is actually the major change in this G99 chipset against the 12nm process of the G96. This modification is expected to resolve the heating and energy consumption problems and provide a stable performance while gaming. MediaTek claims that the Helio G99 brings 30 percent energy savings during gaming compared to the Helio G96

The Helio G99 SoC by MediaTek carries over the identical CPU core configuration as the chip Helio G96, comprising 2 ARM Cortex A76 cores and 6 ARM Cortex A55 efficiency cores. The performance cores, ARM Cortex A76, operate at a higher clock speed of approx 2.2GHz as opposed to the 2.05GHz on the Helio G96.
